“This will be the most significant improvement to the capabilities of an Entertainment Center Owner or Operator in over two decades.” – Peter Gustafson AAMA (American Amusement Machine Association)

Attention: Entertainment Center Owners and Operators…

Why are INDUSTRY LEADING ENTERTAINMENT CENTERS BACKING THIS IDEA?

What we want to tell you about will be the single biggest change in the family entertainment space in literally decades.

It’s an idea that is SO SIMPLE

But, once accomplished, it will power charge your…

  • Operational capabilities…
  • Business analytics…
  • Marketing programs…
  • And power an INCREASE IN YOUR PROFITS

… like NEVER BEFORE.

So, you might be thinking, “if something is ‘so simple’, and promises such revolutionary change, why hasn’t it already been done?”

It’s because, by working as individuals, what ODISEI promises to create, is nearly impossible.

Yet, by WORKING TOGETHER it’s practically inevitable.

In short: We’re going to have to band together to get it done.

This has the potential to change everything...

“Savvy business owners and operators are starting to figure it out. Data organized in order to provide actionable information, has real tangible value. If you’re looking to sell your operation some day, or if you want to build an operation so profitable that you’d never sell, you need seamless, immediate access to your data. This has the potential to change everything.”

– Ted Raiter (Rocket Effect)

THE Open Data & Integration Standard for the Entertainment Industry

I know that "Open Data and Integration Standards" sounds wonky.

And, if you want to read all about what that means you can do so here.

If instead, like most people, you’re wondering why you should care or what’s in it for you, then keep reading.

It gets juicy....

What’s in this for your Entertainment Center?

Some of the benefits you will enjoy include....

The ability to quickly and easily integrate and get data from...

  • Client communication tools
  • Party booking software
  • Point of sale systems
  • Gift-card solutions
  • Dashboard and reporting tools
  • Business intelligence solutions
  • Cashless solutions
  • Ecommerce platforms
  • Booking solutions
  • Marketing software
  • Attraction software
  • Loyalty software
  • Operational systems
  • and more...

You’ll finally be able to...

-Integrate best-in-breed technology solutions, even from different vendors.

-Extract data in UNIVERSAL FORMATS so you can gain actionable insights to improve your operation.

-Create ideal solutions for your facility.

... All working together seamlessly

Without...

Worrying about interoperability or being held back by costly and time-consuming integration projects.

Or, being held together with bubble gum and baling wire.

You’ll be able to quickly and easily...

-Integrate your offerings with resellers like Groupon and get accurate tracking and crediting for you and your guests.

Without...

The need for guests to print and scan paper vouchers while holding up your lines.

In addition...

You’ll be able to easily offer your product on 3rd party booking, travel, and entertainment sites.

Vastly increase your exposure, distribution, and ultimately sales while reaching entirely new audiences.

And, in case you missed it, supporting this initiative is ABSOLUTELY FREE, and does not require you to spend your time.

“I’ve Been Integrating Entertainment Center Systems for 8 Years and I can tell you it’s WAY HARDER than it SHOULD be…or NEEDS to be!”

My name is Greg Moreno and, for the last eight years, I’ve worked with Entertainment Centers to integrate systems.

I’m “known” in the industry for being the guy who will grunt it out and make stuff work together.

Where others have failed, my company Rocket Effect has PAINSTAKINGLY succeeded.

I say “painstakingly” because if you’ve ever tried to:

  • Extract data
  • Build a report, or
  • Integrate two or more Entertainment Center systems together…

….You know, it’s not easy.

In fact, it’s a very difficult, time consuming task.

It’s often difficult to get the report you really need out of   standalone systems. When you need more than one system, built by different vendors to talk to each other, it gets increasingly complex. And, while integrating your systems can be incredibly beneficial for any entertainment center, the cost to do so can be prohibitive for many operators.

By working together with the AAMA and Entertainment Center Owners like you, ODISEI plans to change that.

Below are just a few reasons why we think you should be involved in backing ODISEI and encouraging your industry software and hardware providers to get onboard.

Game Changing Reasons Why ODISEI is So Important

01

REASON 1: Unlock Your Data: Free Your Data From Siloed Systems.
It’s YOUR data afterall. Why don’t you have better access to it?

Systems built on data will…

  • Make it easier for you to understand what’s working, replicate your winning systems, and scale your business…
  • Make you a more attractive acquisition target…
  • Or, create an evergreen company that you don’t want to sell…
  • Allow you to make better informed decisions with less guess work

02

REASON 2: Empower Your Marketing: Gain Deeper Flexibility For Your Marketing Initiatives.

Can you leverage the systems top marketers use to turn prospective clients into cash flowing foot traffic at your Entertainment Center?

Building your systems on open data standards will allow you to….

  • Use what is working and has worked for market leaders in other industries…
  • Flow your data out of location-based hardware, directly into marketing tracking and automation software…
  • Automatically connect your data to customer insight software…
  • Merge customer recency, frequency, and monetary value data easily for better actionable marketing campaigns…
  • Flow data into sophisticated retention and loyalty program software

03

REASON 3: Lower Development and Customization Costs.

Does it make sense to keep spending over 70% of your IT budgets on just trying to get systems to speak the same “language”? Or worse yet, abandoning projects because it just seems impossible to get systems to work together?

  • Lower the cost of development by having systems that adhere to the same standards…
  • Allow IT Budgets to be spent adding features and functionality that truly lead to greater understanding, better decision making and profitability…
  • Unleash creative ideas that spur intelligence and profitability easier and quicker…
  • Require less technically skilled employees to access data or make systems work together

04

REASON 4: Empower Cloud Sales and Initititives
Why is it easier to book a trip around the world than a day at your FEC?

Entrepreneurs have been empowered to create sales opportunities for those industries that have already embraced standards

  • Empower those entrepreneurs so that they can empower your entertainment center with their creative and innovative ideas…
  • Integrate with ecommerce platforms or create custom ecommerce experiences easier…
  • Embrace a standard in order to open up opportunities to sell our experiences through others’ channels

05

REASON 5: Standardize Compliance to Create New Opportunities.

ODISEI will eventually create business opportunities for all of us based on interoperability, data and innovation that we haven’t yet imagined.

  • Work with software providers to release data and improve the capabilities of third party connections…
  • Empower your Entertainment Center with more game play data by working with game manufactures to improve attraction data reporting standards…
  • _________________ so that you can ___________ fill-in-the-blank because the possibilities are literally endless …

So, You’re Probably Wondering, “What’s in it For You, Greg?”

I’ve spoken with a number of Entertainment Centers individually and not surprisingly 100% have told me that they are onboard and will be supporting ODISEI. However, at some point in the conversation, everyone asks me, “what’s in it for you?“.

In truth, starting this initiative will likely cost me business. In fact, when the industry adopts an Open Data Interface Standard, my revenue in this space will probably drop as much as 70% — in the short term.

What I’m betting on, is that the risk, financial resources, headaches and time to organize this initiative, will pay off for all of us, in the long term.

The Risk is Worth the Reward

You see? I’m betting on you! I believe that the business opportunities that will be unleashed by the power of us working together will dwarf what you and I believe our business opportunities are today.

But that’s me.

Why are the Entertainment Centers I’ve spoken with on board and backing ODISEI? Well here are what a few of them had to say about it.

This is something that we’ve needed for a long time...

“Standardization of industry practices and systems are the beginning stages of industry’s transformation. Most every other industry has a leading standardization body, investing significant brain power to the demands and growth of their industry. ODISEI looks to be the opportunity our industry needs to lead the technology that will lead our industry in the future. I am 100% committed to the efforts and contributions we can make to this great opportunity.”

ODISEI is a ‘no brainer’...

“For end-users in our industry, open data support systems such as ODISEI is a no-brainer.  It costs us nothing and offers only positive results for me an operator.”

I am really excited to be supporting this initiative...

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?

If you believe that open data standards can lead to gains in efficiency, greater insights into your business, and lower integration costs and would like to support the initiative, please click on one of the big red buttons to indicate your support for the project.

What if i support the idea, but can’t spend any time on another project?

If you can see the benefit of open data integration standards, but don’t have the time, resources, or expertise to directly participate in the creation of the specification, we still need your help! 🙂

By clicking the big red button to pledge your support you are signaling to vendors and systems integrators who will be taking on additional work to bring this to life and that they should volunteer to adhere to the standards set forth by the group.

IS THIS GOING TO COST ME ANYTHING?

No. There is no cost to pledge your support. We ask those that can to help us amplify our message and get this important initiative in the hands of others in the industry that can help support the cause.

Eventually, reaching out to vendors who you already do business with or are considering doing business with, and expressing your interest in them adhering to this open data integration standard will help them realize that their customers want it and to devote the necessary resources to making their tool work with the standards.

WHAT DOES AN OPEN STANDARD MEAN? WILL MY DATA BE AVAILABLE TO OTHERS?

No. Supporting an Open Data Interface Standard will not make your data available to others. Your data will not be shared with people outside of your organization or those your organization chooses to share it with as a matter of YOUR business priorities.

An open data standard simply means that there is a public specification for how data should be communicated and shared between systems that volunteer to adhere to the standard.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

Standards are how humans build efficiency into systems. As data continues to proliferate and accumulate in our organizations, making intelligent data-based decisions will be enhanced by those that can most quickly aggregate and analyze the vast sums of data we are generating. By analyzing what has happened in similar industries we can be fairly confident that by making it easier to connect within and outside of our own organization, we open up business opportunities that are truly green-fields in the FEC space.

HOW DO I GET INVOVLED?

Getting involved is easy!
By clicking the big red button you will have the opportuntity to join us, and support the movement. Supporters of ODISEI will also be given an opportunity to become part of the process! While it’s not for everyone, there are members of the community that have the background and desire to be part of the committee responsible for defining the ODISEI standards. Simply indicate your interest in staying up to date with ODISEI through committee membership.
